Tournaments planned for Nashcon 2012:
Advanced Squad Leader
HMGS Mid-South proudly presents the Nashcon 2012 Advanced Squad Leader Tournament organized and hosted by Steve Mcbee, Lee Thornton and Mark Sockwell! The tournament starts Friday evening with the first round beginning at 7:00 pm in the Appaloosa Room. This will be a Round Robin style tournament with finishing places determined by points. Players must compete in four rounds to qualify. Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places. Each round will be open format using any published scenario the two opponents agree on. In the event of a tie for 1st place, a tie-breaker game will be played with a scenario chosen by the Tournament Directors. In case of any disagreements, the Assistant Tournament Director will be the arbiter. Appeals may be made to the Tournament Director but his decision will be final. Participants should bring their own set of rules. Additional playing pieces, scenario cards and extra boards are optional but highly recommended. Tournament registration will be handled at the door. Additional tournament fee will cover prizes and a pizza lunch on Saturday. If you have any questions you can contact the Tournament Director at:
A Call to Arms: Star Fleet
1,000 point fleets will fight through three scenarios, earning points as they go. At the end of three rounds, the fleet with the most points will earn the top spot and gain all the bragging rights. Players will need to provide a copy of their 1,000 point fleet list to the judge before the session starts and should bring painted miniatures to represent their fleet. “I believe Paul and Ed are planning on the Arthurian themed tournament taking the place of the open tournament this year. I think they also wanted to host it Saturday afternoon rather than the evening slot.”
So how about a list of armies that are allowed?
There are a few that look to know these things in advance rather than with less than 2 weeks to the event itself. You guys had a good thing going with DBA for so long – rather sad if that falls by the wayside.

I believe Paul and Ed are planning on the Arthurian themed tournament taking the place of the open tournament this year. I think they also wanted to host it Saturday afternoon rather than the evening slot.
We will have a lot of unpainted armies as prizes this year. Scalecreep miniatures is donating some Baccus 6mm armies, some ACW 15mm figures and a complete set of Derivan minis paints as a prize for the painting contest along with some general convention prizes including a 25mm pirate’s ship. Splintered Light Miniatures will also be providing prize support thanks to the generosity of David McBride as well as the “Nashcon DBA staff” so we should be well supplied with enticements.
Tom Thomas wants to run an event as does Paul Potter so perhaps they could forge a gentleman’s agreement and host one on Friday night and the other on Saturday night (hint hint) .

How about some additional information on the DBA tournament. It seems very “sketchy” at the moment. I heard “Dark Ages” and see “Age of Arthur”. Can we pinpoint where the lists can start and end?
Also, is there a sign up, a painted army up for raffle, and a painting contest planned this year? Thanks and look forward to playing 2.2 one more time for the road.
